Well, the day arrived eventually.
My son drove me the the local park & ride for the airport bus, to connect me with Air France’s 11:15 flight to Paris CdG. All was going well until the airline and the airport (I suspect the latter) organised a 25 minute delay.
My transfer time in Paris was 70 minutes. I made it, but it was close. It was helpful that the transfer was within Terminal 2E – both being Air France non-Schengen flights.
The 15:15 to Casablanca was a little late too, but only 10-15 minutes.
I decided on the train into the city centre. First of all it was rush hour. Then my hotel (Novotel) is just across the street from the Casa Port station – terminus for the airport trains. Last but not least, I was in no hurry.
The service runs every hour – not quite 24 hours – and costs 43 Dirhams (€3.8 or £3.4) in 2nd class. It takes 50 minutes.
ONCF’s “offering” in 2nd class isn’t luxury, but I may splash out on 1st class next time.
The last time I visited Morocco I used the train a lot (Casablanca – Marrakech – Meknes – Fes – Casablanca) and took a 1st class seat whenever I could.
