I’m just back from another short trip to the Scottish islands. Three nights on Seil, which is a few miles south of Oban. I decided to escape for a few days before autumn arrives.
I visited Easdale and Luing too. The only way to reach them is by ferry from Seil.
I’ve been trying to work out what was my favourite experience, and found a lot of possibilities.
The marine safari, seeing a minke whale, porpoises and sea eagles?
The seaweed foraging tutorial on Easdale, eating several kinds raw on the beach and then cooked later?
A gentle morning exploring sleepy Luing?
Local oysters and mussels at the Oyster Bar in Ellenabeich?
Staying in the Tin Church?
The 12 seater passenger ferry to Easdale?
The 3 car ferry to Luing?
I’m not finished yet…
